I, Stan Porter (BSc Physiology with Chemistry), am a Forensic Toxicologist with over 30 years experience; the vast majority of my career was with the now redundant Forensic Science Service (FSS). I started as an assistant, working in various departments, before becoming a reporting officer in the toxicology section.
At the time of the closure of the FSS (2011) I had become a senior reporting officer dealing with the toxicology aspect of a whole array of case types including murders, drug facilitated sexual assaults (DFSA), rapes, violent assaults, suspicious deaths, coroner's cases, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, alcohol technical defence and food adulteration. Presenting oral evidence in coroner's, magistrates and crown courts. Since the closure of the FSS I have worked as an independent consultant in forensic toxicology, working for a variety of forensic providers, and have also worked at the University of Central Lancashire as a lecturer in Forensic Toxicology.
Based in Leyland, Lancashire I have primarily given evidence at courts in this region - Preston Combined, Manchester Crown, Liverpool Crown, Chester Crown etc - while I have also travelled as far afield as Alnwick (Northumberland) and Truro (Cornwall), so travel is no issue when applying my expertise to cases.
